With the 2023 Alfa Romeo Tonale joining the Alfa Romeo lineup it is natural to compare the Tonale to other models like the 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Boasting graceful curves, the 2023 Tonale deftly encapsulates a modern reimagining of Italian automotive design. The compact crossover features a smaller V Scudetto grille, LED Tribolo headlights, curved taillights, and 20-inch wheels. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is still dominating its competitors in style and class. The Italian SUV has a streamlined silhouette that is both familiar and redefined. This 2023 model year introduces the Stelvio Estrema, a new fourth trim level that joins the Stelvio Sprint, Ti, and Veloce. The 2023 Tonale plug-in hybrid is smaller than the 2023 Stelvio. This difference in size is only slight and shouldn’t turn you away from either model.

The first powertrain combines a 90-kW e-motor with a 15.5-kWh lithium-ion battery, a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, and 6-speed automatic transmission to produce 285 and 350 torque horsepower. The second available powertrain combines a 2.0L Turbocharged 4-cylinder with the same 90-kW e-motor, and 9-speed automatic transmission to produce 256 horsepower.
