Tips To Taking Care Of Your Gorgeous Locks

Having a bad hair day can really put a dent in your ‘do, but thankfully the solutions to your hair woes can be found right inside your pantry!
Banana-Egg Hair Mask
If you’ve noticed that your hair seems to be getting finer and thinner, it could be in need of a boost of protein. You can treat your hair to a protein-rich hair mask by blending two bananas, two egg yolks, two tablespoons of honey, 1/2 cup conditioner, and two tablespoons of olive oil into a smooth puree. If you have shorter hair consider cutting the recipe in half because it won’t keep well in the refrigerator.
Egg and Lemon Hair Mask
Eggs are sort of a cure-all of many locks. Not only can they give you a protein boost that helps with thinning, but they also can help combat brittle strands by strengthening and nourishing the hair follicles. Mix a bit of lemon juice into a few egg yolks (use fewer for shorter hair, more for longer hair) and smooth it on your hair from root to tip. Let the mask sit for an hour before washing it out with shampoo.
Coconut Oil for Deep Moisture
If you have dry and damaged hair, you don’t need to spend hundreds on expensive deep conditioning treatments, you can use an ingredient from your own kitchen for a moisture surge. When hair is ultra-dry, cosmetics experts recommend investing in a great shampoo that will nourish and cleanse your hair while saving money on conditioning treatments by slathering on oils from the kitchen. Coconut oil is one of the heaviest oils and can really soak into the hair shaft, but it’s best for thick hair on the dry areas from the middle of your hair to the tips. If you have finer hair, opt for olive oil or avocado oil instead.

Add Volume
Whether your hair is naturally fine or you’re lacking volume on day 3 after a wash, grab a volumizer and root lifting spray to pump up the volume. There are a lot of great options at any store, but in a pinch, you can use arrowroot powder as a DIY dry shampoo and volumizer.
