Is The Alfa Romeo Junior Coming To The U.S?

With the reveal of the Alfa Romeo M̶i̶l̶a̶n̶o̶, Junior, stateside Alfa fans are wondering if the Junior will arrive in the US. There’s not much information on a US release, but here’s what we know so far on Alfa Romeo’s newest subcompact crossover.

What We Know So Far

Positioning itself as the new entry-level Alfa model, the Junior’s compact length of 164 inches make it a nimble driver, suited for both urban and rural environments. But it’s not just the size, it’s also the wide range of powertrain options that are offered. The Junior comes with two flavors of power: The eco-conscious Junior Elettrica offers a full-EV experience and delivers up to 255 miles of battery range, while a mild-hybrid variant pairs a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with an electric motor.

In regards to performance, the base Junior Elettrica is expected to output 156 horsepower through its 115 kW motor, while the Veloce’s 176 kW motor delivers 240 horsepower.

Will It Come To The USA?

While many Alfa fans are eager for the new Junior to arrive in the US, the possibility remains slim, but not impossible. Being a subcompact crossover, the Junior may have trouble performing in a crowded mid-sized SUV market. The Junior will also be built in Poland, making it impossible to receive the $7,500 Federal EV tax credit. It’s possible Alfa may slowly introduce the Junior to certain states, but only time will tell.
