Are the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale Being Discontinued?

If you’ve heard rumors about Alfa Romeo discontinuing its Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale models, rest assured—the iconic Italian lineup is not going anywhere. What Alfa Romeo is doing, however, is simplifying its approach by consolidating these models into a single, core trim level for each model. This strategic move aims to streamline the buying process and enhance the focus on essential features and performance, keeping the Alfa experience intact while offering a more straightforward selection process.
A More Streamlined Lineup
For 2025, Alfa Romeo is moving away from the multi-trim approach. Gone are the Sprint, Ti, Veloce, and Competizione trims for the Giulia and Stelvio, as well as the unique options on the Tonale. Each model will now be offered in one core configuration designed to embody Alfa Romeo’s design philosophy without the complexity of choosing between various trim levels. This approach refines the lineup and reduces confusion, unlike many automotive brands who have 10+ trim levels, packages, and groups for each vehicle. (Looking at you Dodge and RAM)
Enhanced Focus on Features and Personalization
This new strategy is intended to allow customers a more straightforward path to Alfa’s renowned performance, without needing to choose between multiple trim levels and costly upgrade packages. In a highly competitive premium segment, Alfa Romeo’s decision to unify its trims under a core model lets potential owners appreciate key features across all models. The streamlined lineup still offers customization options through select features and packages, so buyers can enjoy a personalized driving experience without compromising on Alfa’s signature design and performance.
Exclusive Styling and Limited-Edition Options
To complement this move, Alfa Romeo has introduced a special edition for 2025: the Tributo Italiano. This limited-production model will be available across the Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale and brings enhanced luxury and sport-inspired features. Standout elements include red brake calipers, a premium Harman Kardon sound system, and unique 19- or 21-inch wheels, depending on the model. Additionally, a new color—Verde Fangio Metallic—joins the options for the Giulia and Stelvio, adding an extra layer of exclusivity to the lineup.
The Tonale, Alfa Romeo’s plug-in hybrid, also receives unique styling features in its Tributo Italiano variant, including 20-inch wheels, dual chrome exhaust tips, and a black-painted roof.
