Tips To Decluttering Your Bedroom For The New Year

Is one of your New Year’s Resolutions to get organized this year? Now’s the time! Let’s start with your bedroom.
Clean, Clean, Clean!
Before you organize your room, you must clean it. Let’s be honest, everyone feels and sleeps better in their bedroom when it’s not a stressful, cluttered space. Before you get started, turn on your favorite tunes. Don’t turn on the television, as your favorite show may be a distraction from being productive. Grab your hamper for dirty clothes and one trash bag for trash and another for clothing, shoes, or accessories you would like to donate.
Once the clutter is cleaned out, take all of the items off your dresser and nightstand, including pictures frames, alarm clocks, and books. Wipe down the surfaces. Then, vacuum the carpet or floors and wash your bedding. Cute baskets also come in handy for items that tend to clutter your space. Whenever you need a charger or instructions, you know where to find them, even though they aren’t visible.
Time to Organize
Now that the space is fresh and clean, it’s time to get organized. Open up your drawers and refold all of your clothing with the KonMari folding method. This tactic will especially come in handy if you are short on drawer space. In your closet, use over-the-door organizers or shelving for your pairs of shoes. For out-of-season shoes, keep the boxes and put them under your bed, as you will have more space in your closet for in-season items.
