Plated baked zitiIs the only meal you can get your kids to eat chicken fingers and fries? We have two delicious hot meals to try out for dinner this week. They’re easy to make, and you’ll be number 1 mom or dad in their book. Pro tip: Go ahead and stock up on mozzarella cheese on your next grocery run. It’s about to get cheesy!

Pepperoni Pizza Quesadillas

Pizza and quesadillas combined into one dish? Yes, please. After serving these to your kiddos, you’ll never call in takeout ever again. Here’s what you’ll need: four large flour tortillas, three tablespoons of butter, two cups of mozzarella cheese, 24 pepperoni slices, one tablespoon of garlic powder, one tablespoon of dried oregano, and for dipping, of course, marinara or pizza sauce.

  1. Start by preheating your skillet on medium to high heat and add butter to one side of the tortilla.
  2. Place the buttered side of the tortilla down on the pan. Add 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp dried oregano.
  3. While waiting for the tortilla to heat on the stove, go ahead and chop up 8-10 pepperonis. Add them to the cheese side of the tortilla.
  4. Once the bottom is brown and the cheesy goodness is melted, flip it over.
  5. Once all of the mozzarella is melted, remove it from heat. We told you, lots of cheese happening tonight.
  6. Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice!

Crockpot Baked Ziti

Do your kids turn their nose up at your cooking? After serving your family this recipe, they’ll be begging you to make it every night of the week. Creamy pasta will always be a crowd favorite. Here’s what you’ll need: two jars of pasta sauce, 15 ounces of ricotta cheese, one egg, 1/3 cup of grated parmesan cheese, three cups of mozzarella, and a 16-ounce box of ziti pasta. If you’re really looking to spice things up, pull Italian seasoning, oregano, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes out of your cabinet.

  1. First, begin by mixing in the pasta sauce, one jar of water, egg, ricotta, parmesan, and two cups of mozzarella.
  2. Stir in your uncooked noodles.
  3. Now is the time to mix in your seasonings if you’re feeling creative.
  4. Cook on low for 4-5 hours. This is the perfect recipe for a parent on the go!
  5. Before serving, top with the rest of the cheese. Turn on the broiler setting just until it begins to bubble.
  6. Enjoy! Optional: serve with a garlic breadstick.
