Items You Should Always Have In Your Car

We spend a lot of time in our cars, from work commutes to taking the kids to their activities and sitting in traffic, your vehicle has probably become your second home. Just like a house, no matter how high quality your ride is, from time to time, it’s going to need repairs. With that being said, you’re not always close to an automotive service department, so make sure you keep these essential car items on hand. And when you find yourself in a pinch, you’ll be prepared for the worst.
Phone and Charger
Your phone is probably one of the most essential items, as it allows for communication from just about anywhere. Not only should you always carry your phone in your vehicle, but when your battery starts running low, you’ll need backup, so you’ll also need to keep a charger in your ride at all times. If worse comes to worst, and you’re in need of help, you’ll have the ability to pick up your phone and buzz someone in. Also, if you’re traveling, make sure you share your estimated time of arrival with a friend or family member, as service can be spotty at times.
First Aid Kit
You never know when you’re going to need it, but if you have a First Aid Kit stored away in your vehicle, there will come a time when you need it. AAA has the perfect kit, suitable for your car, so when the kids have a cut, or you need some gloves, you’ll be set.
Jumper Cables
The day will come when your battery dies, and no one likes to sit around and wait for assistance, so take matters into your own hands by investing in some jumper cables. Follow your vehicle’s manual instructions and be back on the road in no time.
Spare Tire
You’re driving down the road, and you start to hear the dreaded thumping sound — you have a flat tire. If you keep a spare tire on hand, as well as the tools for changing it, the inconvenience won’t put too much of a dent in your day.

Non-Perishable Snacks
Whether you’re a trail mix fan or you enjoy granola bars, it’s important to keep some of these in a plastic container in your vehicle. Whether you are stuck in traffic or waiting for a repair, there’s nothing worse than having to wait while your stomach is growling.
