Maintain The Care Of Your Alfa Romeo
Driving an Alfa Romeo vehicle is a special experience, so it’s only natural that you’ll want to keep it in pristine shape for as long as you own it. If you follow these maintenance schedules and tips, your Alfa Romeo will stay in great shape for years and miles to come.
Maintaining a good supply of clean, high-quality motor oil is key to keeping your engine healthy and functioning at its best. If you’re going to top off your oil before getting a full oil change, be sure to park on a level surface, wait for your engine to cool down, and add the same type of oil that you’re using now. When it’s time for a full oil change, be sure to visit us at Safford Alfa Romeo of Tysons Corner.
If your car is going to be out of use for a long period of time, it’s better to remove and store the battery then let it sit and potentially corrode inside your car. When you remove the battery, store it in a warm, closed place. To prolong the life of your battery, make sure the doors are fully closed, and ensure all of the lights are off when you park. Also, try not to leave any electronic equipment running for too long after you turn the engine off, as this drains the battery.
Not only are squeaky, inefficient wipers annoying, but they can also seriously compromise your safety when it rains. It’s important to regularly clean your wipers with a microfiber cloth, and replace them at least once a year. When it gets cold, make sure that ice isn’t blocking the rubber on your wipers, as this can damage the blades. Try to remove as much snow as possible without the wipers, and ensure that there is always enough wiper fluid in the tank.
At least once a month, check your tire pressure when the tires are cool, like in the morning. If they need air, top them up to ensure fuel efficiency and longevity of the tires. You’ll also want to have your tires rotated every several thousand miles, about as often as you get oil changes.
